Why Use Banners In Worship?
Banners, according to Strong’s Concordance, comes from the Hebrew word Dagal which means “to flaunt, to raise a flag, to be conspicuous, to set up banners.”
Banner, in Webster’s Dictionary, is defined as “a piece of cloth on a staff used as a standard by a monarch, military commander or knight; the flag of a Nation, a State, or an Army.”
Standard, in the dictionary, means a flag, banner or an ensign. Something an army raised on a pole to indicate a rallying point for the troops.
So it would behoove us to fly our banners high for the Captain of Lord of Hosts of the Armies of Heaven. Set your standards high!
