“If you come to a small church in the heart of the city of Malaga in the south of Spain, you will see behind the pulpit a huge and glorious banner in shining gold and red. It is in three sections with the center section proclaiming J E S U S in verticle fashion and on each side an angel with a trumpet heralding His Kingship. It is quite awe-inspiring to see such a beautiful work of art in a small building but it serves its purpose in proclaiming that Jesus is Lord in this country so filled with religious spirit and idolotrous worship. This significant banner was seeded to our church in Cordoba, Argentina in 2000 by its maker, Elsa Hammond, when we had invited Elsa for a Worship Seminar to teach on her vast experience in making and using banners and flags. Needless to say, those days of teaching bore much blessing and insight and she was used mightily of God in many, many ways. We will ever be grateful to her for being willing to come so far. Her visit left a mark in our lives, never to be forgotten.
When the Lord brought my husband Jose and myself to Malaga in 2004 as pastors, we felt Argentina should seed in Spain, so we brought Elsa’s banner with us to bless this country. We know the Lord desires each one of us to raise a banner to proclaim the Truth, to proclaim Jesus (Psalm 60:4) and when we open our hearts in simplicity for Him to use us with flags and banners His anointing has been evident and the power of His presence has brought joy and liberation and freedom and healing etc.
As part of the ministry of End-Time Handmaidens and Servants I was accustomed to seeing Elsa’s beautiful banners at their annual convention where the Lord would use them mightily in pageantry and the powerful high worship. I had the privilege of visiting Elsa’s church, then in Bentonville, Arkansas and seeing the parade of her artistry and creativity. Wow! One could only stand with open mouth at the beauty, the creativity, the work of the artist, the work of the seamstress, the colours, the materials combined in such a perfect manner, the excellence...words are hardly suffice. I know Elsa has sent her banners to the nations.
In the year 2001, Shirley Smith, Anita Christopher and I were on a team that went to Spain. Elsa lent us one her large banners to be used to prophesy over that country. As mortals, we cannot understand the full efficacy of flags and banners and all they accomplish in the spirit realm. I am grateful to God for permitting me to know Elsa and her ministry…and only in Heaven will we realize the full significance of her work here on earth."
